Created by Masamune Shirow, “Ghost in the Shell” has become one of the most popular anime/manga series in the West. This cyberpunk epic follows the exploits of Motoko “Major” Kusanagi as she explores the meaning and boundaries of the human soul. She is mostly “machine” reconstructed by the government. She is also unable to leave Section Nine because the government “owns” her mechanical parts.
